Capital Z: Start at the top line on the left and slide right. Without lifting, slant down to the baseline on the left, then slide right along the baseline. Lowercase z: Start at the midline on the left and slide right. Without lifting, slant down to the baseline on the left, then slide right along the baseline.

Tip: Both flat lines go from left to right, and the slant goes from the top right to the bottom left. A slant the other way makes a backwards z.
